Return to Current Blog

Good morning. Hope everyone has survived the holidays and the cool weather here in Florida. Seems like summer is still aways off. Anyway lets get down to this painting.

"Under the Surface" Was a painting I wanted to do for a long time since  I  I started experimenting with rust paint. This painting had a lot of steps to get it finished and the hardest part was getting the paper to look rusty and old. I utilized also an old water color painting I had done in Raleigh back in 2014 for the surface part of the piece. I utlized the following mediums to complete it. Tyvek, Golden High Flow Acrylics, Modern Masters Rust Paint, Caulk, Tar Gel, Modeling Paste. The 12 x24 Hardboard Panel Floats on a 17x28 Panel and is ready to hang.

Also if you get a chance the 67 th  Anniversary Fine Arts Juried Exhibition  will be opening on January 12, 2017 at the Ridge Art Association Gallery in WInter Haven, Florida. My blog from last month about "Sluice Box" is the piece that I entered and is showing in this exhibition. As artists we hope you will get out and see our art because we love to share it with everyone. Have a blessed week and Go Clemson" See ya!
