Good afternoon. Wanted to get a blog out since it has been a bit. Trying to get my paintings ready for a March show. Hoping to have 7 new ones to show in Scottsdale. Red Mesa Afternoon Blowup is a small oil painting 13x21 framed. This painting was again utlilizing Red Mesa AZ as a reference. I believe I have now painted this mesa 10 times in all types of weather and at all times of the day. That's ok because the mesa continue to show nature can always be different and ever changing. The skies contrast in the distance is providing a heavy downpour. Looking at the forground we see still see a hot surface of the desert lacking a sudden wetness that would refresh the enviornment. Nature at its best as always. Art should always tell a story. Just enough drama to hook the viewer. A afternoon blowup in a arid landscape. Good stuff!
As far as local work, I am planning on entering a show in Winter Haven at the Ridge Art Gallery in January. My painting pace is slower now with holiday visits and family visits planned. Actually a Ad for my work and for the Gallery that supports me, Faust Gallery in Scottsdale Arizona and Santa Fe New Mexico will be in a issue of Western Art Collector Magazine. The ad is premoting my show in March. Pick up a copy at your local news stand. All for now. Have a good week and I will catch you hopefully sooner with another blog on my Contemporary Western Art. See Ya!
